Shihan Brian Frost held an 8th degree black belt (Hachidan) and an International Instructor's Certificate (Kokusai Shihan Menkyo) in Karate. He was a direct pupil of Master Onishi Eizo, founder of the Koei-Kan system of Karate-Do and Chairman of the All-Japan Karate-Do Association. Sensei Frost served his apprenticeship under Master Onishi and studied in Japan as an Uchi Deshi (live-in disciple) at the Master's home.

As one of Master Onishi's senior students, Sensei Frost served as the Chief Technical Instructor and National Director for Koei-Kan in the United States. In 1972 Sensei Frost captured the All-Japan Koei-Kan Championship held in the Kamata Sports Stadium in Tokyo and has competed, instructed and demonstrated world-wide. Sensei Frost became acquainted with western style boxing at an early age (eventually accruing an amateur record of 21-3) and began the study of Karate during the early 1960's. With more than forty years of experience in Karate, Sensei Frost was a guiding force in the promulgation of the Koei-Kan system.
